Ming-Shen Jian was born in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan in 1978. He received the B.S. from the National Chiao Tung University, HsinChu, and Ph.D degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Sun Yat-sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 2007.
From 2009, he was a Assistant Professor and director with the National Formosa University Cloud Computing and Intelligent System Laboratory. Since 2009, he has been an Assistant Professor with the Computer Science and Information Engineering Department, National Formosa University. He is the author of four books, more than 50 articles, and at least 15 invention patents. His research interests include IOT development and application, Big Data, Optimal Solution, Intelligent System, and Cloud Computing. He was a Secretary of the Taiwan Association of Cloud Computing.
Dr. Jian was a recipient of the IEEE sponsored international conference Paper Award in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

In this paper, we present an on‐demand flow regulated routing algorithm (OFRA) for ad hoc wireles... more In this paper, we present an on‐demand flow regulated routing algorithm (OFRA) for ad hoc wireless networks. The OFRA consists of two parts: an intermediate node load evaluation process and a routing path selection process. The intermediate node load evaluation process evaluates the load efficiency of the intermediate nodes according to bandwidth, data packets and computing capability. The routing path selection process selects the routing path with lower flow and fewer intermediate nodes. The OFRA can prevent intermediate nodes to be overcrowded and distribute traffic load over routing paths more evenly. The simulation result shows that the percentage of blocked routing paths is reduced and the total flow is more balanced and distributed. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley &amp; Sons, Ltd.

A continuous window query is one of the important spatial queries for LBSs. It retrieves spatial objects in a fixed window region of every point on a line segment and indicates the valid segments of them. In this paper, we propose a skewed spatial index for continuous window queries considering skewed access patterns in the wireless broadcast environments.

This paper develops cloud based software computing as a service (SCaaS) in the hybrid evolution a... more This paper develops cloud based software computing as a service (SCaaS) in the hybrid evolution algorithm with feedback assistance to solve the data optimal NP-complete problems such as travel salesman problems and job shop scheduling problems. Suitable steps, methods, or procedures of the genetic algorithm can be adopted from various evolution procedures or methods of the genetic algorithms based on the fitness evaluation results and survival ratio of different crossover methods in the current generation. The proposed system can dynamically emphasize the corresponding methods or procedures for the better performance in optimal solution searching. In addition, according to the proposed XML format, system users can upload only the coding of chromosomes without implementing the genetic algorithm program. Furthermore, by using the feedback assistance, the convergence time of the optimal solution can be enhanced.

The proposed technique can eliminate noise and shape images of the foot based on X-ray images by using image processing and analysis set up on different virtual machines on the cloud. After image processing, the individual X-ray image is divided into four blocks using the proposed division approach, which takes into account the percentage of each foot. Each divided image can be given to distinct analysis algorithms for key-point discovery by dividing the original image into four individual sub-partitions. Since, every members within one family have their own behaviors, for each family member, the provided services should be also different. Hence, in this paper, we use the adaptive cloud IoT devices, named Intelligent Tetris Switch (ITS), combining with the Bigdata analytics and deep learning technique for providing smart home personalizing services. First, the usual energy consummation for all family members are collected. And then, we using the Bigdata analytics to find the hidden pattern in the collected data. Those patterns are used for distinguish the usages of different family members and learned by the Deep learning technique. In the experimental results, we can see the analyzing results of the collected data. At final, the learned patterns are used to predict the usages of the family members.

This system includes Embedded Service Middleware Platform, and End User RFID Handheld Facilities. The Embedded Service Middleware Platform which runs on the PC or PDA provides modulated API and can be substituted for any other similar system, hardware, and Internet service. The End User RFID Handheld Facilities gives and suits the three possible utilization conditions such as: end user RFID tag, end user device with RFID System, and hybrid end user RFID handheld facilities. The real test and verification prove that the proposed CLAPIS can certainly reduce the construction cost of local area public/personal service system. Learning in Cloud: Developing RFID Based Modular Role Player Game-Distance-Learning System

ABSTRACT In this paper, the Cloud Based Remote Game-Learning Design and Education System with Ind... more ABSTRACT In this paper, the Cloud Based Remote Game-Learning Design and Education System with Individual RFID Information is proposed based on the cloud structure, RFID system, and the educational content corresponding to the vertical curricular organization method. Based on remote system in cloud, the learning game designer can construct the scenario or content of the learning game remotely without powerful hardware resources. The modular designed game can be easily re-modified and embedded into the existing game learning platform which established in cloud. The RFID of each game learning system user can record the information such as learning state, the degree or accuracy of understanding, etc. The information will be synchronized between RFID of individual user and database in cloud. The game learning system is implemented via virtual machines in cloud. The image which consists of game learning system and operation system for the virtual machine can be repeatedly used without individual user information maintenance. Each virtual machine is independent from others and can be initialized for any new user without further hardware cost. The results showed that the continuous assessment for teachers or directors can be enhanced via the on-line game learning system. According to the proposed learning system, the scenario or content of the digital learning game can be easily changed and re-modified. The modular game content can be embedded into the existing learning game platform in cloud. Furthermore, the information of the individual game learning system user such as the learning situations, the degree of understanding, the accuracy of problem solving, and the total time for problem solving can be stored in the individual user’s RFID tag and the cloud database. Through the RFID and the remote game system, the information of individual user can be exchanged between different local-side computers accessed by the user. Users can connect to the learning-game system via the Internet for continued learning. Based on the cloud virtual machine, the user does not need to install or configure the learning system on a local computer. In addition, by integrating RFID and cloud technology, the game can be initialized for any new user without further hardware cost. The results showed that the continuous assessment for teachers or directors can be enhanced via the on-line game learning system. Additionally, the system is able to enhance primary students’ learning achievement. The primary students can learn advanced courses themselves by playing the advanced scenarios of the game-learning system without the assistance of a teacher.

In this study, we developed a system with customized object recognition capability for the secure blockchain-based transfer of industry information through Internet of Things (IoT) devices. In the proposed system, product history data are transferred through blockchains through artificial intelligence (AI)-based object recognition. Individual objects are recognized and represented using a unique number sequence for use as a private key on a blockchain.
