Occasionally, it is associated with aggressive basal cell carcinomas and internal malignancies. Early diagnosis and treatment are essential, as well as genetic counseling. A patient with characteristic symptoms of nevoid basal cell carcinomas and a review of the literature are presented.

It represents a relatively frequent therapeutic method and it is used in many medical disciplines. It makes use of evaporable fluid. Today the most often used is liquid nitrogen. In dermatology the criotherapy is used for curing numerous diseases and states, most often of smaller benign tumors, some inflammatory disease as well as smaller malign tumors such as basocellular carcinoma. It is a relatively simple method, almost painless and especially suitable for ambulance application.

Myeloid-derived suppressor cells are heterogeneous population of immature dendritic cells, macrophages and granulocytes. In cancer patients, these cells accumulate in the tumor microenvironment, tumor-draining lymph nodes, peripheral blood and liver and their numbers correlate with stage of the disease and metastatic disease. Our aim was to investigate the effect of interferon alpha on myeloid-derived suppressor cells percentage in the peripheral blood of melanoma patients. MATERIAL AND METHODS Interferon treated melanoma patients were given subcutaneously interferon alpha, in optimal dose, for a period of at least 6 months before the analysis. Blood samples were collected from melanoma patients (N=91) and age/sex matched healthy controls (N=8). The following anti-human monoclonal anti...
