Each observation consists of one or more photographs, a title, a location tag, a description, a rating, a sensoring experience reporting about flavors, textures, and odors of a particular dish. Finally, we describe the design and implementation of our system which is based on a requirement analysis.

To deal with this issue, a number of systems and techniques for identifying plant diseases have been proposed. However, most of them mainly concentrate on image-based pattern recognition rather than focusing on the observed abnormalities of plant diseases. In other words, they have not employed ontology for semantic detection of plant disease. Current systems do not support farmers to find disease names w.r.t. the semantics of an infected plant. In this work, we proposed an ontology-based approach to modeling plant diseases and demonstrate our approach by developing a rice disease ontology. The ontology helps identifying plant diseases from existing symptoms on plants. To construct the ontology, we reused the domain knowledge related to symptoms of plant diseases from reliable sources. The proposed ontology is modeled in Web Ontology Language (OWL). We also develope a system architecture compatible with the modeled ontology. Finally, we illustrate the usage of our ontology in DL Query for disease retrieval, given that a farmer's observation has already been transformed into an OWL concept. The retrieved results of DL Query make use of subsumption relationship among concepts and properties defined in the ontology.

The international ISO/IEC standard committee in the field of e-learning (i.e., ISO/IEC JTC1/SC36) responded by developing an international standard ISO/IEC 20016-1 to address semantic interoperability requirements of language accessibility, in the form of human interface equivalents (HIEs). The authors identify and summarize key aspects of this ISO/IEC 20016-1 standard including fundamental principles governing individual accessibility requirements, based on the UN CRDP doing so in an ITLET and commitment exchange context. The concept of semantic interoperability (in an ITLET context) is defined and supports the same through the constructs of level and degrees of semantic equivalency. It is based on best practices of translation theory, applied linguistics, and existing applicable international standards, which already addr...

This competition is composed of the kart drivers and the support team that stay in the box monitoring the kart and driver performance. The proposal is to evaluate the driver behaviour during the path of the race with the kart circuit characteristics represented by circuit length, difficulty level of the circuit, speed of the circuit, angles of each turn, accidents, and stops. The results show a high correlation of the driver mood flows with the circuit trajectory and events.

As was pointed out in the 2020 edition of the World Water Development Report, climate change challenges the sustainability of global water resources, so it is important to monitor the quality of water to preserve sustainable water resources. Quality of water can be related to the structure of water crystal, the solid-state of water, so methods to understand water crystals can help to improve water quality. As a first step, a water crystal exploratory analysis has been initiated with the cooperation with the Emoto Peace Project (EPP). The 5K EPP dataset has been created as the first world-wide small dataset of water crystals. Our research focused on reducing the inherent limitations when fitting machine learning models to the 5K EPP dataset. One major result is the classification of water crystals and how to split our small dataset into several related groups. Using the 5K EPP dataset of human observations and past research on snow cry...

In this article, a novel video summarization approach is proposed based on spatiotemporal salient region detection. The proposed approach first segments a video into a set of shots which are ranked with spatiotemporal saliency scores. The score for a shot is computed by aggregating the frame level spatiotemporal saliency scores. This approach detects spatial and temporal salient regions separately using different saliency theories related to objects present in a visual scenario. The spatial saliency of a video frame is computed using color contrast and color distribution estimations and center prior integration. The temporal saliency of a video frame is estimated as an integration of local and global temporal saliencies computed using patch level optical flow abstractions. Finally, top ranked shots with the highest saliency scores are selected for generating the video summary. The objective...
