Research happens in various levels first and immediate way is through internet and books. Literature Case study of existing designs by various designers and analyzing the context of design, material process and form analysis and user experience gives clear understanding for designers to explore the unexplored possibility to solve a design problem in same context or to explore for different context and scenario. The next level of research is field research or market research which helps the designers to understand the consumer needs and their requirement. Market research/field research will help designer understand the strategies behind the successful product and user feedback on existing designs. User research is a very important part of design research where the designer observes the user in action in using the existing product or scenario and analysis through observation, photo documentation and video documentation. “Use of collapsible structure in mobility products” in this research .we are focusing on the global issues of urban transportation and how designers across the world are trying to address the major problems like parking, foot print of the vehicle and compact and portable mobility products which will help in easy commuting with in the city. The research helps designers from reinventing the wheel.

The research focuses on the aesthetic preference of residential facades and evaluates the influence of visual complexity on aesthetic preference. Fractal dimension has been calculated for residential façade designs, and the relationship between aesthetic preference and fractal dimension is established. R.P.Taylor through his experiments proved that people aesthetically have a high preference for designs falling with the fractal range of 1.3 to 1.5(Universal aesthetic of fractals- Spehar et al, 2003).The study found out that aesthetic preference increases with increase in the fractal dimension of residential façade designs. When the façade designs are evaluated by expert architects using Aesthetic measure formula the result indicates the inverted U curve relationship between aesthetic measure and fractal dimension of residential façade designs (Birkhoff 1933; Megahed 2010).
