In this system, closed loop power electronic converters control the speed of BLDC motor and track maximum power drawn from solar panel. Zeta converter with inductor on the load side is used to track maximum power. This paper presents design of power electronic converters for driving BLDC motor using solar PV source. Design of converters is done according to the ratings of BLDC motor and required solar PV array. The performance of Zeta converter is shown through simulated results of 2. S9kW, 3000 rpm BLDC motor. The effect of higher order converter is shown in terms of comparison with second order buck boost converter.

Given several points (cities) to be visited, the objective of the problem is to find the shortest possible route (called Hamiltonian Path) that visits each point exactly once and returns back to the starting point. Several exact, approximate and heuristic algorithms have been proposed to solve the TSP. The objective of this paper is to compare 10 such different algorithms on the basis of cost of the path found and time taken to find that solution in order to identify an algorithm which works most efficiently and thus, can be used in practical scenarios. Therefore, the comparative analysis has been made without time constraints as a preliminary test and then with a constraint of 1 second to determine the most efficient algorithm. This algorithm was then used at the core of the web-based tool (a practical use case) developed for release in public domain which helps users find an optimal round-trip route (i.e. Hamiltonian Path) among the points marked on the map. Google Maps API was used for providing map interface and obtaining real-time distance/duration data (matrix) in the web-application front end.

An optimal energy management scheme is implied on the grid system for better power sharing capability. The energy management scheme controls the buck & boost converters power electronic devices connected to sources for DC voltage stability. The modelling of the proposed system is designed in MATLAB Simulink software with graphical representations with time domain analysis for different operating conditions.

In day the pump is operated from solar power supply and also battery is charged, and during night when solar power supply is not available pump is driven by battery when needed else battery supply is available for other household purposes. Speed and torque of induction motor are controlled by DTC scheme, as it is the simplest and cost effective among all the techniques. Effectiveness of the system with PV and battery connected modes are verified with Matlab/Simulink.

Poor sleep may have psychological effects for an individual, especially during early adulthood. The aim of the present study was to examine how sleep quality impacts the personality of young adults. Asample of 100 participants was studied, divided into two equal groups of participants with good sleep quality and poor sleep quality. Sleep quality was assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (Buysse et al., 1989) and personality domains were assessed using the NEO-FFI (Costa & McCrae, 1992). The results were obtained through hypothesis testing using t values and correlations. Poor quality sleepers had higher neuroticism whereas good quality sleepers had higher extraversion, agreeableness and conscientiousness. A significant positive correlation was observed between PSQI scores and neurotic...

Here, the authors considered a problem where a robot does monotonous job and repetitively traverse the same trajectory every time. Due to wear and tear or any fluctuation in input signals, the robot may not track the desired trajectory. Faults may arise at various levels in robots, for example, in actuator, encoder, and dynamical parameters. Actuator fault detection using encoder sensor will be the main focus in this research paper. The dynamics of robotic arm link is modeled using a DC motor attached with the link, and the encoder attached with the motor will provide position feedback. The fault is detected using EKF state estimation, and the fault is corrected using a PID controller feedback into the motor input torque.

A novel generalized optimal “unscented Kalman filter state observer–controller” (UKFOC) algorithm is presented to control these plants effectively and efficiently. The proposed optimal UKFOC provides state “estimation and control” simultaneously, omitting the system's need for a separate controller. The “trajectory exit probability” from the desired boundaries is minimized based on the large deviation principle with the bounded instantaneous “trajectory tracking error” and the “state tracking error.” These boundaries are rationally computed from the error statistics. The convergence and robustness are realized in terms of the error energy under the influence of the noise and the small parametric uncertainties, respectively. The algorithm's superior performance is demonstrated with respect to Lyapunov control and adaptive Lyapunov control based techniques. Finally, the UKFOC is implemented and tested for the commercially available Phantom Omni robot to demonstrate the potential application on a real-time basis.

Due to advancements in processing speed, the closed-loop administration of drugs has gained popularity for critically ill patients in intensive care units and routine life such as personalized drug delivery or implantable therapeutic devices. For developing a closed-loop drug delivery system, the control system works with a group of technologies like sensors, micromachining, wireless technologies, and pharmaceuticals. Recently, the integration of artificial intelligence techniques such as fuzzy logic, neural network, and reinforcement learning with the closed-loop drug delivery systems has brought their applications closer to fully intelligent automatic healthcare systems. This review's main objectives are to discuss the current developments, possibilities, and future visions in closed-loop drug delivery systems, for providing treatment to patients suffering from chronic diseases. It summarizes the present insight of closed-loop drug delivery/therapy for diabetes, gastrointestinal tract disease, cancer, anesthesia administration, cardiac ailments, and neurological disorders, from a perspective to show the research in the area of control theory.
