Matt Wright was named General Manager of Omaha Sports Properties in August of 2021. Prior to becoming General Manager, he served as the property’s Senior Manager of Business Development since November of 2019.
As General Manager, Wright oversees all aspects involving LEARFIELD’s extensive multimedia rights and sponsorship relationship with Omaha Athletics, including corporate partnerships, signage, radio, event marketing, digital, and television.
Prior to joining the Mavericks, Wright spent almost five years with Jackrabbit Sports Properties at South Dakota State, serving as Manager of Business Development for two years, and as General Manager for three years. In his time at SDSU, Wright was nominated for LEARFIELD’s Rookie of the Year in 2016 and was part of the team that won LEARFIELD’s Property of the Year award for Jackrabbit Sports Properties in 2017. Wright also previously served with local athletics multimedia rights teams dedicated to Washington State University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
The Omaha, NE native earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2006. He received his master’s degree in Sport Management from Minnesota State-Mankato in 2013.
Wright and his wife, Ashlee, reside in Omaha with their two children, Josie and Jackson.
