Abstract
We propose a fill factor enhanced see through 3D display system using subpixel structured lens-array holographic optical element (HOE). By performing sequential recording for each red, green and blue wavelength with repeating the recording process three times while lens-array is shifted laterally by one third of lens pitch, subpixel structured lens-array HOE is implemented, which makes three times of focusing points compared to previous lens-array HOE. After the recording, a set of red, green and blue focusing points can act as one full color pixel like usual panel type displaying device, so the observer perceives full color image. Overall fill factor of displayed 3D image is enhanced by the factor of three because the number of focusing points that consist image is three times of conventional case.
