Cass' PC Build

Hi, I'm Cass. As I have my own custom-built PC, I thought that it would be helpful for me to list what I have as a reference for myself and others. I've also linked to websites that sell these certain parts if you would want to buy them (non of the links are sponsored and I don't benefit from you buying anything).

Current Build and Parts

Component Selection Buy it Notes
# CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor Amazon N/A
# Case Fractal Design Define Mini C MicroATX Mid Tower Case Amazon N/A
# Headset Sony MDR-ZX310AP Headphones - Black sony.co.uk Bought in-store. I'm not an audiophile, plus my ears were blown out when I was 17 by playing Metallica too loud, so this headset sounds fine to me.
# Keyboard Keychron K10 Pro - Full Sized Mechanical Keyboard

Keychron

Replaced my Kesington ValuKeyboard.

Bought in-store when I was in the USA during September 2024 while I was with Noëlle of hornblende.neocities.org and our fellow friend, alph, while we were at Micro Center (very friendly staff (in a good way)). Cost around 110 USD. Also, thank you to a of trwnh.com for teaching me how to change the keys and whatnot.

Unlike any past keyboards I have used, this is an EN-US layout.

This buy was also when I found out that in the USA, the price tag does not include the tax, so if something says it's (for example) $4, when you buy it, it could be $4.45. This is actually stupid.

# Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory Amazon N/A
# Microphone Blue Yeti Nano Premium Amazon Stupid simple to use. Just plug in and it works.
# Monitor AOC C24G1 24.0" 1920 x 1080 144 Hz Curved Monitor Amazon N/A
# Motherboard MSI B450M PRO-M2 MAX Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard Amazon N/A
# Mouse Corsair Harpoon RGB Pro Gaming Mouse N/A Was a gift from Cathy (thank you!), so looking up the listing to see the price seems a bit rude.
# Operating System Arch Linux archlinux.org Free
# Power Supply SeaSonic S12III 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply Amazon N/A
# Storage Samsung 860 Evo 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Amazon N/A
# Storage Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200 RPM Internal Hard Drive Amazon N/A
# Video Card Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 7600 8GB Graphics Card Box.co.uk Was a replacement for my Gigabyte MINI ITX OC
# Wi-Fi TP-Link USB WiFi Adapter for Desktop PC Amazon It works fine I guess. Sometimes it just does not want to work so I have to opt to tether my phone to it. Kind of annoying if I want to be on the move and, say, AFK in a game or whatever.
# Webcam LOGIK LWCAMHD23 Full HD Webcam Currys Plug 'n' play type deal

Former Build and Parts

Component Selection Buy it Notes
# Mouse HP 100 Black Wired USB Mouse N/A Sadly broke
# Video Card Sapphire Vapor-x R9 290x Graphics Card I lost the listing, but it was eBay and was a lot more than it should have been Was a second hand buy. Died (mirror).
# Keyboard Kensington ValuKeyboard Black N/A Was a gift from Varia (thank you!) after my old keyboard (I don't know the model) broke, so looking up the listing to see the price seems a bit rude.

Got replaced when I got the Keychrome K10 Pro in 2024.

Thanks

A big cheers to a of trwnh.com, Cathy, Varia, Robin, and Noëlle of hornblende.neocities.org for helping me find and recommend parts for my original build and getting me off my crappy laptop. Also, thank you to my friend Archie for helping me physically build the PC.

Other Computers

As well as owning the above PC, I am also the owner of a few other computers, mainly laptops. My main laptop that I use is an IMB ThinkPad X40 that I was able to find from eBay for around £20. Originally it ran Windows XP, but as a lot of programs don't run with it, I opted to stick Q4OS on it.
