psychology in the context of psychotherapy; it explores the concept of reality, how it can
manifest within a model, and its implications on an individual’s felt sense of wellbeing
and purpose in life. The problem underlying this work arises from the lack of current
research on the correlation between these two fields—in general and, even more so, in
terms of clinical applicability—despite the increasing global relevance of quantum
physics, its parallels with analytical psychology, and its potential for assisting the practice
of psychotherapy. This paper utilizes a hermeneutic methodology for its investigation
into the following research question: How might the principles of quantum physics,
interpreted through the lens of analytical psychology, enhance the efficacy of
psychotherapy? This work aims to initiate the process of developing an answer for this
question by translating the insight that emerges from this overlay into a theoretical
framework for what this thesis terms ‘Quantum Psychotherapy’ and illustrating how it
might be applied to clinical practice. Concurrent to its speculations about this potential
modality, this material invites ruminations on the ramifications of the modern, quantum
world on the human experience and the meaning of existence.
