Body Discovered In Roadway On I-459 In Hoover Still Unidentified
The Hoover 911 center received a call from a motorist after they saw what appeared to be a body in the roadway on I-459.
HOOVER, AL β A body was discovered in the roadway on I-459 in Hoover Tuesday afternoon, which caused a backup of traffic in both directions. The discovery was made just after 1 p.m. on I-459 North, between the Lorna Road bridge and I-65.
Capt. Keith Czeskleba of the Hoover Police Department said the Hoover 911 center received a call from a motorist "after they saw what appeared to be a body in the roadway."
The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene, and officers said the body appeared to have been struck by multiple vehicles. The Jefferson County Coronerβs Office on Wednesday said the victim is an adult Black male, but he has not been identified.

"This investigation is in its early stages and it is unknown how or why the victim was on the interstate," Czeskleba said. "It is possible that the victim may have been in the roadway for several hours before the incident was reported."
