UPDATE-EVENT POSTPONED: Franklin Farm MarketPlace and Community Fair

THE CRAFT FAIR HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO SUNDAY MAY 21 BECAUSE OF THE RAIN PREDICTED FOR MAY 13.

Assistance League of Northern Virginia is honored to be selected again by the Franklin Farm Foundation to receive the proceeds from the Silent Auction that will be part of the Marketplace and Community Fair. On Saturday, May 13, local artists, crafts people, and small businesses will be available from 11 am to 4 pm at the Still Pond Pool Area (2700 Franklin Farm Road, Oak Hill, VA 20171) to showcase their crafts.

Members of Assistance League will be on hand to provide information about its philanthropic programs that feed, educate, and clothe elementary school students throughout Northern Virginia. Please stop by Assistance League’s table to learn about the remarkable work it has been doing in the community for 20 years. The nonprofit is gratified by the partnership and support of the Franklin Farm Foundation, including the Shred Event in April. Many of the nonprofit’s earliest members lived in Franklin Farm and some are still members! Assistance League hopes that when you visit its booth, you’ll be impressed by its programs and want to join the chapter. New members are always welcome.

Assistance League will be taking orders to purchase this year’s Official White House Ornament, which features a festive holiday wreath, adorned with decorations similar to those used during Gerald Ford’s administration. The price is $23. It will also collect gently used athletic shoes for its GotSneakers campaign, which is one way the nonprofit raises funds for its programs. Only pairs of athletic shoes can be accepted; no sandals, metal cleats, flip-flops, dress shoes, or boots.
