V is written 100% in V. V is a very simple language. Going through its documentation will take you about an hour, and by the end of it you will learn pretty much the entire language. Despite being simple, it gives a lot of power to the developer. Anything you can do in other languages, you can do in V. Key features of the language are: <ul><li>Simplicity: the language can be learned in less than an hour</li><li>Fast compilation: ~100k - 1.2 million loc/s</li><li>Easy to develop: V compiles itself in less than a second</li><li>Performance: within 3% of C</li><li>Safety: no null, no globals, no undefined behavior, immutability by default</li><li>C to V translation</li><li>Hot code reloading</li><li>Powerful UI and graphics libraries</li><li>Easy cross compilation</li><li>REPL</li><li>Built-in ORM</li></ul>V 1.0 release is planned for 2020. Right now V is in an alpha stage. Vid is a 1 MB text editor written in V with hardware accelerated text rendering. Compiles in &lt;1s.
