Not knowing what it was, that preview struck me as something quite new and amazing. That being said, I don't like the full piece. But if the preview was by itself, maybe a bit bigger, I'd definately rate the highest I could.
Ok, didn't realise that right away, but finally saw it.
It's actually the former - I was planning to do a bigger reflection, but there were some time constraints involved with the weekly challenge. So I just did a small portion of the window reflecting light onto the floor.
I think saturated colors were a good choice. Is the bottom supposed to be light reflection on the ground or part of the glass itself ?
Thank you Yeah, stained glass is absolutely beautiful - I love the way light comes through it. I'd love to see a challenge based specifically around stained glass to see people's different interpretations.
Thanks a lot! And thank you for your critique in the challenge thread :)
thank you! Yeah, I feel like I could've gotten a more Egyptian feel had I gone with colors inspired by ancient Egyptian art - but I thought going with very saturated colors would help the stained glass feel most. I guess it depends, but I wanted to go with vivid colors to make it really feel like the sun was shining through.
Very nice! I have a same sort of fascination with stained glass (just love the light and colours that come oozing through it), and still looking for a right piece to use it. I like your Egyptian spin on it!
I think you pulled off the stained glass very well :) and the piece is beautiful! good job
That really looks like a stained glass, and has a great egyptian atmosphere! I really like this fav!
You could have propably got even better egyptian feeling with different colours.
You conveyed stain glass really well.
