🚨 Spotlight on Mevris App: A Case Study in Poor Development and Customer Service 🚨 As someone who values innovation and technological advancement, it’s disappointing to witness the ongoing issues with the Mevris app, developed by BlueEast for Orient Group Of Companies Pakistan. Key Issues: Login Problems: Despite being in the market for over six years, the app’s login functionality remains non-functional for many users. Longevity Without Improvement: Available on the Play Store for more than six years, yet fundamental issues persist. User Feedback Ignored: The app has some of the most disappointed users, with countless negative reviews highlighting persistent issues and frustrations. Lack of Developer Response: Zero response from the developers, BlueEast, despite ongoing complaints and feedback from users. Takeaway: The Mevris app serves as a prime example of poor development practices and an extremely poor feedback/improvement cycle. It's crucial for companies to prioritize user experience and actively address feedback to ensure product success. Universities in Pakistan should establish commercial software houses to significantly benefit from leveraging their existing resources, such as faculty expertise and student talent, to generate revenue and foster practical learning environments. This approach not only contributes to the institution's financial sustainability but also enhances students' real-world skills, making them more employable. For example, Industry experience in software engineering and management could be invaluable in guiding such initiatives, aligning them with industry standards and demands. Financial autonomy of any University is very key to excel in academia and research specially dependency on Government can be reduced drastically.
