This is a story of instinct. Unseen motives and cruel desires buried under a near paradise, cut clean through accidental homicide and ultimately laid bare out in the California wastes. The film, like all good mysteries, leaves the evidence just out of view. Under the water, desire swims deep below the unforgiving rip tide. Hidden beneath the desert scrub, below a rocky and cancerous dirt, lay helpless bones pinned down by the hammer of sexual dependency. A specter waits for them out on the highway.
