Soon after, while intoxicated, he insults Polly, and is discharged by the owner of the show. In revenge. Flint looses the animals, and Polly is pursued by a lion to an old barn, where she climbs up onto a horse stall out of the frantic beast's reach. Dorn, meanwhile, has made his getaway, and is in hiding in the same barn. He comes to Polly's rescue. With no weapon save a pitchfork, he saves her life and disables the lion. Flint, escaping across country, stumbles into a hole, where he is found and fatally wounded by one of the wild beasts which his own fury has loosed. Written by
