However, no matter how much he threatened them, Chiharu's parents kept insisting they had no money, and kept trying to drive down the sum of the ransom. Finally, they produced only 80,000 yen and even Eisuke began to pity Chiharu, who was abandoned by her parents. He released Chiharu, sending her home on a bus. Now an adult, Chiharu attends a seminar given by the charismatic business journalist, Tadahito Umino. The seminar is called "Make 100 Million Yen in 90 Days." Chiharu's son, Shuji, was taken away from her by her late husband's parents. They agree to return him only if Chiharu successfully makes the 100 million yen in 90 days. According to Tadahito's advice, Chiharu gathers some people together to run various business transactions and grows successful.
