He tells her to cut an orange in half, giving each suitor a half and to choose the one who, in a specified period, would bring back both parts. It is agreeable to the boys; and Jack departs on a mission into the mountains, where he is bound hand and foot by a gang of Dick's "bad men." Dick now returns to the girl with the two halves. In the meantime, Jack, who has been extricated, rushes to the girl's home and encounters Dick in front of the house, where a fistic combat takes place. Jack finally subdues his antagonist and Ethel soon learns who the better one is. Written by
