The weeks following the tragic event, he begins to peruse a collection of 1960's business receipts extracted from a Calcutta storefront a decade earlier. Seeking out the documents' provenance, he returned to India the following year piecing together a story of a business called The Delight Electrical Works. It's one-time owner, Abdul Rahman, had undergone an amputation, a story analogous to Carl's, and the business records indicate that he was able to move onward with life through a series of passageways that prove helpful for Carl.
