He struggled for years to finish a novel though he had started several, and Lauren, his off-and-on-again girlfriend of five years, had left him six months earlier. The breakup was a wake up call. He needed to commit to something, anything, before it was too late. That is how he ended up in an old farmhouse in the horse country of Potomac, Maryland. It worked. Peter finished his novel at the farmhouse, and his agent sold it. It was the first time he truly followed through on something significant in his life and Peter finally felt his years of struggling were about to pay off.
