When misfortune comes knocking, we merely stare, with no escape. Sze, who is always changing jobs, cannot fit in the society despite being willing to. He becomes alienated until he meets Ling, a young office lady who constantly tells others that she will get a working holiday visa and go abroad. Sze's elder brother,Chun, is an insurance agent who sincerely believes that insurance is there to protect people. Chun has learnt to be adapt living in the big city thanks to his devotion to work; everything seems like a piece of cake to him until reality stares him in the eye following the sudden death of his friend. Their father, On, is a night shift security guard employed by a university. He lives his life in stagnation and boredom in the city where life is nothing but a drag and it is heavy.
