The dark lenses covering a sufferer's eyes can appear out of nowhere, in the midst of an otherwise happy life, and be almost impossible to remove. This film attempts to visualise the experience of a person with clinical depression, in a bid to help others understand more clearly and perhaps sympathise more. If those who have not suffered from this disease were to 'walk a mile in the shoes' of those who have, they might realise why telling a depressed individual to 'cheer up' or asking what they 'have to be so sad about' is not helpful - quite the opposite, in fact. If this film helps even one person gain a better understanding of a depressed individual's experience, then I have done my job.
