A járművet Grace Kelly vezette, aki másnap örök búcsút vett a földi léttől.
Rainier monacói uralkodó megkérte a kezét. Grace Kelly hercegné lett, pompában és luxusban élt, de valójában aranykalitkába zárta a férje, aki soha többé nem engedte feleségét a kamera elé állni. A Grace elsősorban a színésznő korai éveire, filmszerepeire, hollywoodi kapcsolataira helyezi a hangsúlyt. Most először kerül a nagyközönség elé Grace Kelly és Alfred Hitchcock levelezése, és számos, a színésznő pályatársaival, rokonaival készült interjút is olvashatunk. A hercegné monacói múltjával kapcsolatban pedig a Grimaldi család archívumából nyilvánosságra hozott, eddig ismeretlen dokumentumok nyújthatnak új információkat a díva rajongói számára.

However, since these court masques were not only pieces of written poetry, but also well-organised spectacles, it might be of interest to approach them from the perspective of performance and in comparison to popular theatre. The present paper discusses how theatricality, popular entertainment, acting, and professional players are connoted by the "blackness" and the changeable nature of the female masquers in Ben Jonson's Masque of Blackness. Considering his ambiguous and vehement relationship to the stage designer Inigo Jones, I am also examining Jonson's antitheatrical attitude and his struggle to keep his poetry "white," "beauteous," at a distance from the mutability of performance.

As Mark Rylance, the previous artistic director of the Globe stated in several interviews, when working in the Globe, he was interested both in exploring the structure and working practices of the original Globe company and exploring the theatre space itself. Rylance, such as other theatremakers enthralled by Shakespeare, has palpable ideas about how early modern actors could have played, and he strongly connects these acting styles to the Shakespearean text. The mission of Shakespeare's Globe, thus, is not only to enshrine dramas in the form of performance, but also to understand and practice "original" Elizabethan performance. My paper analyses how conceptual patterns of early modern (Shakespearean) performance have developed and have been adapted/embedded in English acting tradition, and how they are understood and preserved in contemporary theatrical discourse. For several decades, there have been many attempts of theatre professionals to become a contemporary to William Shakespeare. In a performative/theatrical context, this means the production of modernised stage realizations. Making Shakespeare a contemporary could also be connected to the approach of the texts with quasi new interpretational strategies, to which theatrical adaptations and understandings can contribute a lot. However, while these projects are seemingly revolutionary, in fact, they often adapt to the canonised and idealised image of the Author, which is the result of the nineteenth-century cult of Shakespeare. Moreover, in the twentieth century it has become common that Shakespeare scholars cooperated in theatre projects, while actors and directors published theoretical writings on the stage mechanisms and the performance of Shakespeare. A legutóbbi kutatások azonban, kitágítva a kora modern teatralitás fogalmát, egyre nagyobb jelentőséget tulajdonítanak azoknak a nőknek, akik a különféle színházi terekben a látványosság részei voltak, sőt, a nézőket is szórakoztatták. A dolgozat Mary Frith, a hírhedt londoni zsebmetsző és szórakoztató figuráján keresztül a nők korabeli megmutatkozási lehetőségeit vizsgálja, különös tekintettel a férfinak öltözött nő („hermafrodita”) jelenségére. Érvelésem szerint az ilyesfajta performanszok a reneszánsz színháztörténet részének tekinthetők (akár a színésznők megjelenésének előzményeként is olvashatók), hiszen mind a közönség, mind a színházellenes felhangok hasonlóan reagáltak ezekre a jelenségekre, mint a hivatásos színészetre.

In early modern theatre, however, it was probably an inherent part of the players’ work, and for this reason, it left its mark on contemporary plays. The aim of my essay is to analyse allusions to extempore acting in Shakespeare’s dramas. My argument is that improvising characters/players in Renaissance theatre embodied creativity, intuition, independence and freedom; and that is why they were often hindered by other characters. Moreover, extempore attitude and manners were continuously criticised in the anti-theatrical literature of the age, thus, those actors/characters who applied it were the constant targets of the enemies of theatre. By reading some of Shakespeare’s plays and discussing their cultural-theatrical background, I intend to show that improvising characters – to the enjoyment and the edification of the audience – subvert the rules of social and theatrical behaviour in order to represent independence.

ISNN 2285-7850. Ára: 650 Ft. A Játéktér 2016-os tavaszi száma az erdélyi magyar színházi közegben a nők helyzetére fókuszál. A tartalomjegyzéket átböngészve aztán kiderül, hogy ez csak részben igaz: a számban érdekesnek ígérkező, női témákkal kapcsolatos írások gyűltek össze, ám mivel a lap a szélesebb színházi közönségnek is szól, aktuális kritikákat is tartalmaz, amik nem feltétlenül kapcsolódnak a fókuszhoz. A szerkesztői előszóban Adorjáni Panna a feminista beszédmóddal igyekszik kapcsolatba hozni a kiadvány célkitűzéseit, szövegeit anélkül, hogy konkrétan utalna bármelyik írásra. A feminizmus perspektívája persze óhatatlanul kapcsolódik a női témához, a szerkesztő ugyanakkor úgy véli, hogy Erdélyben nincs meg a megfelelő regiszter ahhoz, hogy a nők színházbeli szerepét adekvát módon jellemezni és elemezni tudjuk (4). Ebben a tekintetben a szám diskurzusteremtő vállalkozásnak is tekinthető: ahogy a nő helyét keressük a kortárs erdélyi színházban, úgy keressük a megfelelő feminista beszédmódot is, sőt, úgy próbáljuk a feminizmust a hétköznapi (kritikai) beszéd részévé is tenni.
