Based on the analysis of the literature data and specimens from museum and private collections th... more Based on the analysis of the literature data and specimens from museum and private collections the checklist of species belonging to the genus Sophrops Faimaire, 1887 has been collated. Each species is presented with its full synonymy, bibliographical data, and distribution in alphabetical order. For 15 species, a new taxonomic status has been proposed. The new distributional data of some species are given.
On the basis of a field research conducted in the years 2009–2016 in the environs of Lake Sycyn (... more On the basis of a field research conducted in the years 2009–2016 in the environs of Lake Sycyn (Northern Greater Poland), the fauna of Coreoidea of the area on question was indicated. The occurrence of 20 species from the superfamily Coreoidea was demonstrated, including 1 species from the family Alydidae, 10 species from the
family Coreidae, 8 species from the family Rhopalidae, and 1 species from the family Stenocephalidae. Remarks regarding the phenology of species occurrence as well as their environmental selectivity are also presented.

In total, 16 species in 10 genera and five subfamilies Aphodiinae, Cetoniinae, Melolonthinae, Rutelinae and Scarabaeinae were identified. Four species are new records for the fauna of Iran: Bodilopsis sordida sordida (FABRICIUS, 1775) and Phalacronothus biguttatus (GERMAR, 1824) (Aphodiinae), Onthophagus (Palaeonthophagus) basipustulatus HEYDEN, 1889 and Onthophagus (Palaeonthophagus) coenobita (HERBST, 1783) (Scarabaeinae).

Due to the reporting of Tritomegas sexmaculatus (RAMB.) from Pomerania Lake District, its northern border of range has been moved above 52°N. Photos facilitating the identification of both species are presented.

In total 19 species from 16 genera (Adoretus, Aphodius, Amphimallon, Cetonischema, Copris, Eulasia, Euonthophagus, Glaphyrus, Netocia, Onthophagus, Oxythyrea, Pentodon, Valgus, Polyphylla, Stalagmosoma, Trichius) were collected and recorded from this region. A checklist of Iranian Scarabaeoidea is provided.

The fauna of these insects was studied in Iranian rice fields and surrounding grasslands from 2000 to 2005. A total of 18 species from 14 genera (Aphodius, Pleurophorus, Tropinota, Protaetia, Valgus, Amphimallon, Aplidia, Holochelus, Polyphylla, Chaetopteroplia, Asiopertha, Onthophagus, Scarabaeus, Paroniticellus) and 6 subfamilies (Aphodiinae, Cetoniinae, Melolonthinae, Rutelinae, Scarabaeinae, Coprinae) were collected. Of these, 9 species are new records for Iran.
