Full Meaning of Rahiym
Rahiym or Raahim is an indirect Quranic name for boys that means “merciful”, “kind”, “tenderhearted”, “one who treats others with mercy and kindness”. It is used in the plural form Raahimeen in many places in the Quran.
Rahiym shouldn’t be confused with Raheem. For Rahiym, the stress is on the “a”, while for Raheem the “a” is short and the stress is on the “ee”.
Musa (Moses) said: “O my Lord! Forgive me and my brother, and make us enter into Your Mercy, for you are the Most Merciful of those who show mercy.” (Quran 7:151)
[Jacob] replied: “Shall I trust you with him in the same way as I trusted you with his brother (Joseph] aforetime? [Nay,] but God’s guardianship is better [than yours], for He is the most merciful of the merciful!” (Quran 12:64)
