My design approach combines speculative-design, experience-prototyping, people-centered-design and design-research. Through design, collaboration, teaching and multi-disciplinary research I find ways to perceive and reflect on the invisible world around us with a focus on the digitisation of identity, self-perception and the perceptions of others. The use of narrative, anthropological and design theory can position the data and its interfaces within narrative discourse and fictional world-building. A comparative ontological study of data and the interface as an object-artefact for cultural dissemination was conducted. In developing the idea of the data-fiction this text argues for the change in approach and thinking by the authors of fictions. To explore communicative techniques through the inclusion and adoption of data generation, recording and representation within narrative discourse.

A project that produced a toolkit and visual vocabulary for technological exploration, to capture, visualise and communicate invisible electromagnetic fields that surround everyday objects. The project acts as a case-study to answer a need for work that combines scientific and artistic practices. To create a open dialogue between the public, scientists, designers, and engineers in a way that provides a visual language for understanding and critical discussion.
