A short transverse electromagnetic (TEM) horn with continuously tapered resistive loading
was developed for directional reception or transmission of picosecond pulses with minimal
distortion. It was found to be broadband and nondispersive with a low VSWR. The receiving
transient response of the resistively loaded" TEM" horn indicates that the waveform of a 70-
