He has a degree in Economics and in Actuarial and Financial Sciences. He holds a PhD in Economics and an MBA. He has been working in Capital Markets departments for several banks. At present, he is an associate professor in the Economics Department at the Universidad de Alcalá. He has written papers and books about financial and actuarial aspects. His areas of research are long-term care insurance and risk assessment in the field of insurance. He is a member of several scientific associations and of the Institute of Spanish Actuaries.
