Dr. Paolo Governa

Postdoctoral associate at the Department of Integrative Structural and Computational Biology, at Scripps Research. Former postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Biotechnology, Chemistry and Pharmacy - Department of Excellence 2018-2020, University of Siena (Italy), involved in the identification and development of bioactive compounds, using structure- and ligand-based in silico methods. Since April 2014, I also collaborate with SIFitLab, the research laboratory of the Italian Society of Phytotherapy, dealing with quality control, chemical and biological analyses of herbal extracts, and managing research projects involving the study of pharmacological and pharmaceutical properties of medicinal plants through in silico and in vitro investigations. Since June 2015 I am the head of Italian Society of Phytotherapy Young section (S.I.Fit Giovani) through which I organize the "SYRP: S.I.Fit. Young Researchers Project", an annual meeting for young researchers involved in the field of phytotherapy, medicinal plants and natural products for medical use. In my free time I devote myself to sports and music, and I participate in the activities of my family farm.
