Dong Chen received a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Qingdao University of Science and Technology, Qingdao, China; a Master's degree in Cartography and Geographical Information Engineering from Xi'an University of Science and Technology, Xi'an, China; and a Ph.D. degree in Geographical Information Sciences from Beijing Normal University, Beijing, China. He is an Associate Professor at Nanjing Forestry University, Nanjing, China. He is also a Post-Doctoral Fellow with the Department of Geomatics Engineering, University of Calgary, Calgary, AB, Canada. His research interests include image and LiDAR-based segmentation and reconstruction, full-waveform LiDAR data processing, and related remote sensing applications in the field of forest ecosystems.
