Gian Luca Marcialis received his M.S. degree and Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Science Engineering from the University of Cagliari, Italy, in 2000 and 2004, respectively. He is currently Associate Professor at University of Cagliari and leader of the Biometric Unit of the Pattern Recognition and Applications Laboratory (PRA Lab) at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. His research interests are in the fields of biometrics, namely, fingerprint presentation attack detection, fingerprint classification, multiple classifiers for biometric identification, deepfake detection, crowd analysis, and self-update-based biometric systems.
