Mr. Jonas Assouhan ATCHADE

ATCHADE Assouhan Jonas is a national of Benin and is 32 years old. He holds two master's degrees, one in natural resource management from the UAC (2014) in Benin and the other in climate change and sustainable development from the AGRHYMET Regional Center (2020, Niger). He is about to complete his PhD in sustainable urban development (October 2023). Jonas currently works as a Climate Change and Green Growth Expert at the African Development Bank (AfDB), helping the bank to integrate climate change adaptation and mitigation into the policies of its member countries. He helps the bank to build country capacity in climate finance and mobilization, as well as to develop and implement climate policies. Trained as a Certified Expert at Franckfurt School of finance and Management (FS, Germany) in the financing and implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) as part of achieving the objectives of the Paris Agreement, Jonas is also a member of the UNFCCC Experts roster. In this capacity, he is a technical expert reviewer under the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF). Jonas is also one of 30 young African leaders undergoing post-graduate training in policy design and implementation at the School of Transnational Governance (STG) of the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence (Italy), as part of the Young African Leaders program funded by the European Union.
