Francisco Jose Alguacil works in hydrometallurgical operations and their application in the environment, liquid membranes, nanoadsorbents, materials recycling, and effluent treatments. He received his PhD in 1985 from the Department of Metallurgy of the Complutense University of Madrid and carried out postdoctoral research at the Imperial College of Science and Technology in London, UK. In 1987, he joined the scientific staff of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). In 2001, he became a Scientific Researcher, and, in 2002, he was promoted to Research Professor. He is the Scientific Co-supervisor for the Chemical Analysis Laboratory of CENIM. As of November 2023, he authored 351 scientific papers published in SCI journals and 44 research patents (national and international). Please check intended meaning retained.
