Ali Mamtimin, male, Uyghur ethnicity, is a Ph.D. candidate in applied meteorology from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, a level-four researcher, chief scientist of the desert boundary layer meteorology team at the Xinjiang Meteorological Bureau, and a leading talent of the bureau since 2022. In 2011, he conducted visiting research at the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is currently the director of the Institute of Desert Meteorology China Meteorological Administration, the director of the National Observation and Research Station of Desert Meteorology Taklimakan Desert of Xinjiang, and the director of the Key Laboratory of Desert Meteorology and Sandstorm. He is also a supervisor for graduate students at Xinjiang Agricultural University, Xinjiang Normal University, Xinjiang University, and Chengdu University of Information Technology, and a member of the editorial board for journals such as "Desert and Oasis Meteorology" and "Drought Meteorology". He is a reviewer for journals such as "Remote Sensing", "Arabian Journal of Geosciences", "Journal of Wind Engineering & Industrial Aerodynamics", and "Atmosphere". His main research interests include observing and simulating land-atmosphere interactions in deserts, terrestrial ecosystem carbon cycles, and the fine-scale evaluation of wind and solar energy resources.
