The number of different digital collections, thematic portals and subject indexes are increased. Also the internal databases of all the faculty members' publications are created. In parallel, centralized resources of online courses appeared. However, these positive changes mainly relate to the initiatives of the high university management. In the conditions of a certain disintegration of the different areas of Russian science, there is a search for new ways for cooperation, initiated by scientific community itself.

The author draws on his own experience of teaching the discipline at the Faculty of Journalism at St. Petersburg State University (Russia). In the area of methods of teaching the general subjects, an approach to teaching literature is sufficiently developed for students studying philology at the university. Meanwhile, today communication science serves as one of the fastest growing areas of scientific knowledge and the sphere of popular practice. However the question of the methods of teaching the history of literature to numerous students studying the communicative science is still not seriously raised. From theoretical point of view, it is not equally important to introduce vast and diverse picture of the literary process in different periods to journalism students, as to philology students. The main task is to teach students how to read and understand literary texts in their correlation with the extra-literary line. In this case the specific character of the literary context
and creative manner is more fully revealed through demonstration of the impact of different factors: political, social, common cultural - on the literary process as a whole and individual poetics in particular. In addition, in the teaching process it is

From the perspective of scientific achievements, Russia is an integral part of the Western world. Moreover, in the 20th century, Russia managed to achieve an unusually high position of authority regarding science in society, which was then accompanied by the mediatization of science. The level of popular science in the USSR was unusually and uniquely high; science replaced religion for the Soviet people. The signs of the popular science revival in modern Russia should lead to the construction of an environment that does not duplicate Soviet or Western experience, but instead combines them.
This book will not only be a valuable resource for specialists in the field of history, mass communications, science and education managers, but also for a wide audience of readers interested in popular history.
