On Saturday 14 September, UQ is hosting an afternoon of activities from 1pm to 5pm at the UQ lake and amphitheatre. Activities include free lawn games and a treasure hunt for the kids, walking tours of the campus and revitalised lake, and community garden workshops.
This Wednesday 4 September is Indigenous Literacy Day and UQ is holding a Great Book Swap at St Lucia outside Student Central from 11am to 2pm. All funds raised will go to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, which provides books in first languages and learning resources to children and families living in remote communities across Australia. Make a donation in exchange for a book, or support Indigenous Literacy Day by making a donation online.
UQ Paralympians have claimed 6 medals so far in Paris, with UQ Cycle Club star Korey Boddington winning gold and bronze over the weekend. This followed an incredible weekend in the pool, where UQ swimmers Jack Ireland, Lakeisha Patterson and Brenden Hall collected silver and bronze medals.
Do you ride to campus? Take these simple steps to help keep your bike or scooter safer and more secure. Register for free access to UQ’s bike boxes and end-of-trip facilities, always use a high-quality lock when securing your bike or scooter, and park in well-lit areas.
