About This Site

To help you better interpret the information presented here, please keep the following in mind:

Defining Hypervisors and Nodes

  • A hypervisor or node (these terms mean the same) is a single physical server that hosts multiple virtual private servers (VPS).
  • RackNerd operates hundreds of physical nodes/hypervisors within each datacenter location.
  • We maintain rigorous standards for our status page updates. Any service disruption, even if limited to a single node among hundreds in a location, is promptly reported on our status page to ensure full transparency.
  • In our commitment to full transparency, we diligently report all known issues or maintenance activities on this status page, even if it is a scheduled maintenance or a non-customer impacting event. This ensures you have comprehensive, up-to-date information about our infrastructure status at all times.

Interpreting Status Meanings

  • "Operational": This means all nodes are fully operational. There are no service disruptions on any of the physical servers in the respective location.
  • "Partial Outage": This typically indicates an issue with one or a small number of hypervisors in a location, not the entire datacenter. 99% of the time, this affects only a single hypervisor/node out of our entire infrastructure in that location. In such a case, most customers in that location are unaffected.
  • "Major Outage": This rare status indicates an issue affecting the entire location.

For VPS Customers

  • To find out which node your VPS is on, please watch our YouTube video tutorial by clicking HERE
  • Compare your node name with any reported issues in the detailed status updates below.

Important Notes

  • Individual hypervisor issues are not indicative of a location's overall performance. Most incidents remain isolated to specific node(s) without impacting the entire facility.
  • If you suspect there is an issue and the location is marked as operational, please read this guide.
  • For detailed information on current or past issues, please scroll down to the "Past Incidents" section to view the status updates for specific nodes.

Dublin Datacenter Emergency Maintenance - Dublin Datacenter (Rack DUB10.S1.52.R02.02)

We are currently performing emergency maintenance on our Dublin datacenter due to detecting early warning signs of a failing Power Distribution Unit (PDU) in one of our racks (Rack: DUB10.S1.52.R02.02). Our monitoring systems have identified abnormal power fluctuations indicative of a failing PDU. This requires immediate replacement of the affected PDU to prevent an uncontrolled outage scenario where devices could lose power unexpectedly.

Impact: This maintenance affects only one rack in our Dublin facility, specifically the following VPS nodes: DUB099KVM, DUB109KVM, DUB100KVM, DUB107KVM, DUB106KVM, DUB110KVM, DUB102KVM, DUB104KVM, DUB105KVM, DUB108KVM

Timeline: We expect this task to be completed within the next 4 hours (before 7 PM Dublin time). The request has already been placed with the datacenter remote hands team. To clarify, this does not mean there will be 4 hours of downtime. This is simply the total window of time allocated for the operation. Once the actual work begins, affected nodes may experience approximately 30 minutes of downtime during the PDU replacement.

Our technical team is working closely with the remote hands team to complete the PDU replacement as quickly as possible to minimize service disruption. This intervention is necessary to maintain the reliability and stability of our infrastructure.

We appreciate your patience and understanding. This incident will be updated as soon as the maintenance is completed or if there are any significant developments.

UPDATE (April 16, 2025 - 7:00 PM Local Time):

Work on the top half of the rack has been successfully completed, and the following nodes are now back online and operational: DUB099KVM, DUB109KVM, DUB100KVM, DUB107KVM

The remaining nodes (DUB106KVM, DUB110KVM, DUB102KVM, DUB104KVM, DUB105KVM, and DUB108KVM) are still pending maintenance and will be addressed when the remote hands team completes the PDU replacement for the bottom half of the rack. Due to scheduling constraints with the datacenter's remote hands team, we need to extend this maintenance window. The maintenance for the remaining portion is now expected to be fully completed before 2:00 AM Dublin time (Apr/17/2025).

Our technical team remains in close communication with the datacenter staff to ensure the replacement is performed as soon as possible. As previously stated, this is only the maintenance window, and does not indicate the total amount of downtime. Once the actual work begins, each node will experience approximately 30 minutes of downtime during the PDU replacement.

We apologize for any inconvenience this extended timeline may cause and will continue to provide updates as we have more information. The reliability of our infrastructure remains our top priority.

UPDATE (April 16, 2025 - 9:11 PM Local Time):

The maintenance is now fully completed and all servers are back online and operational. Please open a support ticket if you are still experiencing any issues, and we'd be happy to assist.
