Whether you're a fan of Half-Life or not, Transmissions: Element 120 is a quality short game. Set in the same universe as Half-Life, the story runs parallel to Gordon Freeman, but they're paths do not cross nor futures connect. This mean the enemies, weapons, and environments will be similar, but there is no need to play the Half-Life games to know what's going on.

Although running of an older engine the developer has made many changes to the textures and lighting, so it feels and plays like new. The levels are detailed and have an interesting perspective coming from the underground to the surface. Unlike Half-Life 2 Transmissions: Element 120 has a very dark gritty feel to it. This paired with its original soundtrack and new physics make it a very satisfying game.

First let me say that Hard Reset's storyline is not it's high point. It's cutscenes look as though their budget ran out so they uploaded their drawing board and added bubble text, so we knew what was going on. The plot then can be described as robots bad, kill robots.

Now that we've gotten the bad out of the way. Let me tell you what this game got right. Hard Reset is an over the top shooter, similar to games such as Doom or Serious Sam, except set in a beautiful cyberpunk future. You're essentially only given two guns. This is ok though, as you have multiple settings with upgrades. Plus it makes picking up ammo one less thing you have to worry about, so you can focus on killing the machines!

The game starts of a little slow, but after you've acquired a few character and weapon upgrades the game will start to pick up the paice. My personal favourites were the grenade and rocket launcher for the C.L.N. firearm and the rail and smart gun for the N.R.G. weapon. This combined with that character upgrade that gives you a burst of adrenaline when you get close to death should get you pumped enough to take back control from the machines!

In my opinion "The Room" series is the best of the simplistic puzzle games or ones that you can play with one hand. This is of course excluding games with full controls like Portal, Myst, or The Witness.

The ambient noise as well as the sound each switch, cog, and lever make set the mood perfectly. The torches, lamps, and candles all light each room, as if it was almost real life. The puzzles this time encompass the whole room and not just one puzzle box. The story is a little naff, but I came here to solve puzzles, so I wasn't too fussed. Replay-ability is at a zero, as you will already know all the answers to the puzzles. Apart from these factors I would still pay full asking price, just on the intricacy of the puzzles and level design.

The Room and The Room Two give me hope that games CAN be ported properly. They're fun to play on your own or with your girlfriend and/or kids. They make you think for once instead of shoot and/or kill aimlessly and I will most definitely be purchasing their third game whenever they decide to port it across to PC.

The story is forgettable, but it serves its purpose of grounding your character to this world. It's it's Metroid style gameplay combined with fluid platforming and combat where the game really shines. The mix of bright colours in the foreground paired with a combination of dark and light colours in the back, not only make sure that your eyes are pinned on the action, but made for an interesting art style as well. Plus the bosses are as epic as they come! I'd definitely say this game is worth it's full price of £6.99 as it had me entertained throughout.

Quite possibly the best short game I've played on steam.

Refunct is a first person platformer set in what appears to be an endless ocean. The aim of the game is to restore all of the land. You do this by pressing red switches. Pressing a switch makes another switch appear along with more land. The wall running, jumping, and sliding are smoother than butter .The vibrant colours, water, and lighting are of exceptional quality for such a low priced game. Plus there's achievements for touching all the floors, touching the least amount of floors, and completing the game in under eight or four minutes if you're interested or just parkour around the island at your own leisure. What's not to like?

Everything that was in previous versions of the game has been perfected in this dlc. The map easily dwarfs its predecessors. The hoverbike, varied dialogue, and way in which you unlock different sections of the map the more money you acquire are nice additions to the game. My favourite thing though were all the scifi references. Sometimes it hurts to be such a nerd, but this time it felt good! Not just the best GS dlc but the most visually stunning as well, the graphics were on point with this one. Only downside was the jet, that thing handled like a bag of sh*t!

One thing I really enjoy about this game's dlcs is that they are vastly different to one another. In this dlc you can play as more than just a goat, you get four characters to choose from. A ram which is more or less the goat, a camel which can shoot water, a dolphin in a wheelchair (yea I don't know what these developers are smoking... but I want some!), and a flamingo which can fly. The cars are now driveable and you have a new city to explore. What else is it you need?

Ever wonder what Goat Simulator would play like infused with zombies... You need not worry as GoatZ is here!!!

The game takes multiple zombie games and movies and makes a parody of them. A whole new map, which you can switch between before and after the infection broke out. The city's peppered with pop culture references much like the base game. With every reference you understand you remind yourself of your superior intellect, all while you plodding around town licking and head butting things as a goat. A pretty decent dlc in my opinion.

Not a bad little time waster. It reminds me a of those missions on "Tony Hawk Pro Skater" that would have nothing to do with your skill on the board, but were fun to do. Goat Simulator went and made a game just about those missions.

There are multiple mutators (powers) you can equip to your goat to make things more interesting. You can ride a bike in the base game, plus cars, hovercrafts, and jets in the dlcs. You have free roam of multiple large maps and a multitude of missions that can be completed in any order you please.

Now don't get me wrong this game is no work of art, but it lets you cause chaos around town as a goat and there's something simplistically beautiful about that.
