町のお肉屋さんが、閉めたあとに手作り和菓子として開店。とは言え、店主は鎌倉大町の老舗和菓子の「大くに」の縁者で長年の腕は確か。
店主は朝があける頃から店の中で仕込みをする姿が毎日見られる。その姿勢だけで味が推測できる。
一番の品は「豆大福」、とにかく皮が薄めですごく柔らかい。一日たつと固くなってしまうので、すぐに食べる。あんこもたいへん美味で、「量り売り」もしている。
この時期は、丁寧な作りの栗蒸し羊羮。
胡桃ゆべしもしっかり美味しい。柿、栗、銀杏入りの亥の子餅もたいした和菓子だ。
そして、かるかん!は栗ときんとんの台に山芋のかるかん、に、蒸し羊羮に色をつけた飾りを練り込み仕上げた一品。
お餅もシーズンに売るが、とにかく柔らかくて、垂れるくらい、よって団子系は柔らか過ぎる。
美味しい赤飯も売る。
店主の和菓子への情熱が感じられる。
早朝から店を開けるので、散歩の途中でも買える。
