江戸時代に鳥取藩主池田光仲公が、庶民に高価な魚の代わりに豆腐を食べるよう勧め、質素倹約から生まれた「とうふちくわ」。
木綿豆腐と白身魚のすり身を7対3の割合で混ぜて蒸し上げて作っている。
今では鳥取のソウルフードとなり、B1グランプリに出場したり鳥取の郷土料理の一つになっている。
鳥取市民の台所の「鳥取港海鮮市場かろいち」に立ち寄り、とうふちくわ発祥の店『ちむら かろいち店』のととうふちくわを購入した。

たこねぎ棒を買って食べみたが美味かった!
とうふちくわは、ふっくらした食感と豆腐と魚肉の旨みがあり、ビールや酒のつまみとしても最適である。
