Firstly, a 3-axis micro milling machine was developed. The positioning accuracy of all the 3 axis is better than 0.25 μm and the highest spindle speed is 160,000RPM. Then, using this machine, the optimal cutting parameters are studied and the components are successfully manufactured. Finally, to ensure the stable performance of the components, laser cofocus microscope and a new method called micro-bridge method is introduced to estimate the roughness, elastic modulus and residual stress of the micro milled thin-walled structures in the inertial MEMS components and this is a good try to evaluate the surface quality produced by micro milled method.

Abstract—Cost-effective, high-performance diagnostic instru-ments are vital to providing the society with accessible, affordable, and high-quality healthcare. Here we present an integrated, ‘‘microfluidic drifting’ ’ based flow cytometry chip as a potential inexpensive, fast, and reliable diagnostic tool. It is capable of analyzing human blood for cell counting and diagnosis of diseases. Our device achieves a throughput of ~3754 events/s. Calibration with Flow-Check calibration beads indicated good congruency with a commercially available benchtop flow cytometer. Moreover, subjection to a stringent 8-peak rainbow calibration particle test demon-strated its ability to perform high-resolution immunological studies with separation resolution of 4.28 between the two dimmest fluorescent populations. Counting accuracy at different polystyrene bead concentrations showed strong correlation (r = 0.9991) with hemocytometer resul...

Experimental results reveal that the increase in depth of cut (d) influenced the cutting forces more when compared to changing the feed rate (f) and cutting speed (v). Also, within the selected range of variables, an optimum material removal rate (MRR) is also recommended.

The overall cost of the SB-VAWT will mainly depend on judicious choice of multiple design parameters. An attempt has been made in this paper to analyze the influence of three design parameters related to smaller-capacity fixed-pitch SB-VAWT with the help of a computational scheme. The three design parameters are: (i) solidity, (ii) aspect ratio and (iii) blade pitching. Affect of these parameters are analyzed for a SB-VAWT equipped with a special purpose airfoil "MIVAWT1" which has been designed for a smaller-capacity fixedpitch SB-VAWT. It has been demonstrated in this paper that proper selections of these three parameters are important for a cost-effective smaller-capacity SB-VAWT which can be considered as a candidate for urban and off-grid rural applications.
