The Test Description Language (TDL) is a new language for the specification of test descriptions and the presentation of test execution results. TDL is a standardized testing technology developed and maintained by the European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI) and specifically designed for high-level test specification.
TDL is intended to support the process of stepwise development of tests from requirement specifications, which is well established in both, standardization and industry. It is part of the methods and languages produced by the Technical Committee Methods for Testing and Specification (TC MTS) which are designed to support this process. These include also the Testing and Test Control Notation version 3 (TTCN-3) and the Test Purpose Language (TPLan).
