Almost all of pervious research about FJS problem ignore setup times between jobs. In many realistic situations setup times depend on sequence of jobs. In these conditions it is not valid to absorb the set up times in processing times. In this study the FJS with sequence dependent setup times is modeled as a nonlinear mixed integer programming. The objective function is minimizing maximum completion time of jobs (makespan). The model is proven to be Np-complete. To solve the model an effective approach based on taboo search is developed. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is shown via numerical experiments

The problem is modeled as a mixed integer programming. The objective function is minimizing maximum absolute lateness. The model is proven to be Np-complete. To solve the model two versions of a heuristic approach based on tabu search is developed. Also a new relation is presented to determine due dates of jobs in the flexible job shop problem. The numerical experiments show the proposed relation is appropriate with the problem and the suggested algorithm efficiently solves the model in a reasonable CPU time. Keywords:

The statistical population included 15 experts and the middle/top managers of 130 knowledge-based companies.FindingsBased on the results of the driving power and dependence diagram from the ISM, a seven-level classification of the main determinants has been used. The QFD results indicated ‘meeting environmental law standards’; ‘scale to support innovative strategies’; ‘commitment to continually improve and make eco-innovations’; ‘technological advisory oriented to environment’; ‘product and process EI oriented methods’; ...

Heuristics and biases influence many entrepreneurial decisions. Moreover, some of the most important entrepreneurial decisions are marketing-related. Given that the entrepreneurial marketing behavior emanates from entrepreneurial thinking and decision-making, one may conclude that female entrepreneurs’ marketing decisions are susceptible to heuristics and biases. This paper aims to explore the outcomes of heuristics and biases in entrepreneurial marketing decisions. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected by conducting semi-structured interviews with 19 Iranian female biotech entrepreneurs and analyzed by thematic analysis. Findings The findings indicate that introducing pioneering products to the market, overestimating product’s marke...

Yet, the majority of the research in this field has been done without utilization of a process approach. Besides, the decision-making process of entrepreneurs in any society is influenced by its environmental context. Therefore, this research adopts a process approach and aims to conceptualize inputs of decision-making process for new venture creation (NVC) in an Iranian high-tech context. The research employs qualitative–explorative design in order to take into account the specific regional context of Iran. This study utilized event-based interviews with 20 nascent entrepreneurs. Results of coding, categorizing and validating the research findings, revealed six main conceptual categories as the main inputs of the decision-making process for NVC in this context. The suggested propositions illustrate that the developed categories afford the two elements of individual decisio...
ABSTRACT Nowadays, Entrepreneurship – as an important mean of making value and wealth for societi... more ABSTRACT Nowadays, Entrepreneurship – as an important mean of making value and wealth for societies and organizations – is in center of attention. Entrepreneurship as a way of thinking, reasoning and acting that is opportunity obsessed, has a very strong dependency on the opportunities that are recognized, discovered or created by the entrepreneurs. There are a lot of knowledge-related elements those can be used by individuals to increase their potential to be an entrepreneur in a society or an organization.Knowledge management systems are very strong tools to make parts of tacit knowledge to learnable contents that can be guided to be used to empower individuals to be entrepreneurs. By using collaborative, conversational knowledge management we can manage the learning process of individuals. It conduct them to have a good intuition in – both context of justification and discovery – their specific domains to be better experts and to have more effective, accurate and up-to-date – both qualitative and quantitative – initial and prior knowledge to make entrepreneurial decisions under different levels of uncertainty. This access to information also helps individuals to have a good entrepreneurial alertness to recognize, discover and create opportunities. Using collaborative, conversational knowledge management systems enables us to do knowledge acquisition more effectively and to make stored knowledge more up-to-date and accurate. These features of these kinds of systems make them a good tool to be used in amplifying of entrepreneurial behavior elements like intuition, alertness, expertise and etc. which will define the cognition of entrepreneurs that will be the basis of their inferences, decisions and their behavior as a whole. In the current research, getting together findings of both fields of knowledge management (KM) and entrepreneurship, we will explain how KM and specifically collaborative and conversational KM can be used as a tool to empower individuals with more potential ability to be an entrepreneur. To do this we will discuss entrepreneurship and then by defining some of elements that can be influenced by collaborative KM, we will enter to the domain of KM. After introducing these parameters we will explain how collaborative and conversational KM and its tools can be used for this goal.

This conceptualization considers the indigenous aspects and the contextual factors.Design/methodology/approach: The authors used a qualitative approach to investigate the concept, more deeply, in developing countries. In order to do so, a series of semi structured in-depth interviews were conducted with ten experts in this domain. Coding of qualitative data - both interviews and documents - was used to identify new dimensions, elements, and variables. The experts were chosen from knowledgeable individuals in this domain in the universities, including university officials, professors, and officials of the Science and Technology Parks. It should be noted that non-probabili...

In order to avoid these difficulties, we apply a Hierarchical Preference Voting System (HPVS) for MMS problem that uses a Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model to produce weights associated with each ranking place. The presented method solves the problem in two stages. In the first stage, weights of criteria are calculated and at the second stage, alternatives are ranked with respect to all criteria. A simple case study has also been presented to illustrate the competence of this method. The results show that this approach reduces some difficulties of previous methods and could be applied simply in group decision making with too many decision makers and criteria. Also, regarding to application of a mathematical model, subjectivity is reduced and outc...
