It considers how literacy facilitation, technical support, and involvement facilitation influence the strength of the relationship between technostress creators and organisational commitment. Multiple regression analysis and hierarchical multiple regression analysis were utilised to test the relationship and the moderating effect among the variables. The findings revealed that collectively, technostress creators significantly explained 13.1 percent of the variance in organisational commitment. Techno-overload and techno-uncertainty were found to have significant positive relationship with organisational commitment. As for the moderating effect, both literacy facilitation and involvement facilitation did not act as moderator in the relationship between technostress c...

The originality of this study lies in its purpose to explore issues of knowledge management and its relation to the innovativeness of organizations. The study focuses on three selected Iranian banks (in public and private sector), an industry and a setting that has received less attention by researches so far. This paper studies the effectiveness of managers’ mindset in leading or misleading the organizations to achieve organizational innovativeness through KM. Based on a questionnaire survey, the authors argue that applying knowledge management makes it simpler to achieve the innovativeness in organizations. What we found significant in this study is that employees, provided with appropriate training and mentoring opportunities to generate novel ideas, would create new services in banking. The mindset of bank managers about their human resources absorbs diversity of op...

The purpose of this study is to provide a systematic review of contributions related to entrepreneurial ecosystems. Design/methodology/approach This literature review evaluates studies that are covered in the Web of Science index. Findings In addition to the recent state of research (covering industries, geographical scopes, methodologies, etc.), this study provides an extension of Isenberg’s (2011) model of entrepreneurial ecosystems. Research limitations/implications A new avenue arises for both conceptual and empirical research by emphasizing crowdsourcing as a contributing element for the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Future studies can evaluate the effectiveness of different types of crowdsourcing profoundly to make sure whether creating a promising ecosystem all types of crowdsourcing have a similar value or impact. Practical implicatio...

Design/methodology/approach – A total of 300 employees from a public university comprising of both academicians and support staff responded to the survey. The survey questionnaire had 46 items covering selected HRM practices and university performance. Findings – The study has found that human resource practices: recruitment, training, performance appraisal, career planning, employee participation, job definition and compensation have a significant relationship with university performance. Research limitations/implications – The results come from a cross-sectional study which was done at the convenience of the researcher. The results may not be generalized across the country. The application of the results to other universities must be done with maximum care. Practical implications – If the university is to increase its performance to higher levels, it should emphasize more on job definition, training and employee participation. Some improvement needs to be done on the other HRM practices-recruitment, performance appraisal, career planning and compensation in order to increase their effectiveness on the university performance. Originality/value – Most studies on impact of HRM practices on firm performance have focussed on private sectors in Malaysia. In other countries, the studies have focussed only on academicians as a sample. This study has attempted to add to the body of knowledge on the impact of HRM practices on university performance in Malaysia combining both the academicians and administration staff. Keywords Public sector, Performance management, Malaysia, Human resource practices, University performance Paper type Research paper

The nature of Malaysian mobile phone industry is disorganized and its distribution channel is very sophisticated. The competition is getting intense, consequently the bargaining power for both dealers and consumers are increasing radically with the raising price pressure. In order to stay away from the competition or as the co-author of the ‘Blue Ocean Strategy’, Professor Kim puts it, break out the ‘red ocean of bloody competition’, CSL begins to look across the strategic groups within the industry and focus on the noncustomers. Today, CSL has grown with the industry and has successfully managed to position itself as one of the major players in the Malaysian mobile phone industry with 2000 retail points and 80 retail outlets and 18 service centers nationwide.
