TLT was applied using quadrants of experience, critical reflection, rational dialogue, and action. The sample was drawn from the Billy Graham Center Archives at Wheaton College. These audio interviews involved 28 people. The findings confirmed compatibility between TLT and these Christian spiritual renewal accounts. Implications involved prioritizing prayer, expanding vision, and clarifying intentions personally and collectively.

Yale… These schools are recognized as some of the most respected universities in the English-speaking world. George Whitefield, John Wesley, Charles Wesley, Jonathan Edwards, D.L. Moody… These men stand out as some of the most influential Christians in the last 300 years. What do these two short lists have in common with each other? These are places and people greatly used in extraordinary movements of the Holy Spirit in recent centuries, and specifically related to collegiate campuses.

While we look forward both to fresh Holy Spirit-led advances and further research, Shaw offers this valuable text, which would be useful for courses in spiritual formation, intercultural studies, or church history, or for any Christian desiring to read more about the coming of God’s kingdom in these days.

In the “Foreword” to Manuel Ortiz’s book One New People: Models for Developing a Multiethnic Church, Harvie M. Conn crystallizes this point: "In a day of fear and mistrust the multiethnic (or multicultural) church is a sample of recomposition in Christ. E pluribus unum (“One out of many”) is a visionary slogan in politics; in the multiethnic church it is a response of the Holy Spirit to culture wars. It is well worth more than a quick glance by a fracturedsociety seeking unity in too many superficial solutions, and by a church that often doesn’t realize the treasure it has been given."
The multicultural church prepares us for a picture of eternity. “And they sang a new song: You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation” (Rev.5:9).

The literature review examined two domains: Transformative Learning Theory (TLT) and renewal of spiritual life in American students. TLT was applied as quadrants of experience, critical reflection, rational dialogue, and action. In the data collection, the rational dialogue and action quadrants numerically showed the strongest conceptual compatibility; substantiated by all 28 participants. A Christian worldview integration chapter also shows an inter-relationship of Mezirow's educational theory with a Christian biblical framework for renewal. Three biblical passages (Psalm 77:1-20; Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 4:7-18) are exposited and provide insights into the educational theory and biblical theology inter-relationship. An information-rich sample was selected from campus renewal audio archives from the Billy Graham Center Archives at Wheaton College. These audio interviews involved 28 people and totaled 30 interviews, since one highly involved student and one highly involved professor were interviewed both in the general interview and wider testimony categories. The findings confirmed a strong compatibility between TLT and these accounts of Christian spiritual renewal at Wheaton College in 1995 making what occurred look like a laboratory for transformative learning. The presentation of this data was reduced to 11 prominent themes and summarized by one statement for each quadrant: TLT Quadrant #1: God's active presence initiated, motivated, and empowered the revival's transformative learning (26 people, 343 comments). TLT Quadrant #2: Christian renewal participants had their hearts, expectations, and understanding meaningfully stirred by Bible teachings and church history examples (27 people, 241 comments). TLT Quadrant #3: Unexpected levels of vulnerability in confession became contagious in a safe relational context (28 people, 511 comments). TLT Quadrant #4: Participants were drawn to God and to each other through intercessory prayer and celebratory worship experiences (28 people, 495 comments). Findings were discussed related to TLT and Christian spiritual renewal literature, and adapted into educational implication questions. The study culminates with quadrants of personal openness to Christian spiritual renewal including a prioritization of prayer through the inter-connected and circling stages of disorienting experience, critical reflection, rational dialogue, and action

I want to understand better, summarize concisely, reflect upon, and communicate these proverbs using the same 5 syllable, 7 syllable, 5 syllable Japanese poetic pattern in English.
In historical context, Genesis begins by providing accounts of creation, humankind’s fall into sin, a worldwide flood, and the dispersing of the nations. Then, the lives of these key figures are presented: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. For this Old Testament book, the general pattern has been to write one haiku for each of its 50 chapters; with one additional haiku added for two of the chapters.

I wanted to understand better, summarize concisely, reflect upon, and communicate their messages using the same poetic writing style. This "Nehemiah Haiku Project" provides an overview of what was communicated during this season of Old Testament renewal.
In historical context, Nehemiah led an effort drawing the Jewish people back to Jerusalem following the Babylonian Captivity. Zerubbabel and Ezra had already led significant efforts to restore the Jewish people back in their land. At this juncture, Nehemiah serves his God and people through a major wall building project and a season of spiritual renewal. I wanted to understand better, summarize concisely, reflect upon, and communicate their messages using the same poetic writing style. This "Minor Prophets Haiku Project" provides an overview of what the 12 Minor Prophets communicated.
These Minor Prophets are certainly not less in importance compared to the books of the Major Prophets - Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, and Daniel. On the most basic level, they are generally shorter in length. In this set of summaries, three haiku have been written for each of the 12 Minor Prophets using the 5 syllable, 7 syllable, 5 syllable Japanese poetic pattern in English. As a way to see these haiku related to their original contexts, these summaries are grouped first geographically and then chronologically.

How might someone navigate through these understandable relational and historical challenges as a messenger of the incredible benefits of the Christian good news? Furthermore, how can younger people, who feel the societal challenges perhaps to a greater degree and cringe at historical missteps, find ways to avoid repeating problems in a process of offering Christian spiritual answers in genuine and humble ways? The 9 Arts of Spiritual Conversations presents an approach that is worthy to explore and apply.
