The difficulties indicated in the chapter about children's productions when they explore a procedural text can become important guidelines in the professional training of novice writers of technical documents. The chapter compares the main characteristics of procedural texts and other text types. It presents a developmental analysis of the acquisition of procedural knowledge as opposed to other types of knowledge. It then discusses research conducted on the development of procedural text production and comments on our own empirical data concerning the production of procedural texts by children. Finally, the chapter discusses some of the issues raised in the developmental literature that are relevant to improving the production of written documents in the workplace. Keywords: children's productions; developmental literature; procedural knowledge; procedural texts; professional training; technical documents

The dataset includes transcribed dialogic interactions from 111 lessons conducted in classrooms of five countries: England, Portugal, Germany, Spain, and Cyprus. The lessons were part of the same Cultural Literacy Learning Programme made available to teachers from three age groups (pre-primary, primary, secondary) to implement with their ordinary classes during ten sessions. The data are from the third and eighth sessions and followed the same structure, content, and objectives. As the main goal of the project to which the dataset belongs was on cultural literacy learning, understood as dialogic dispositions and values, the data were coded according to a Dialogic Empathy coding scheme presented in detail in Macagno et al. (2020). This rich multicultural, and multilinguistic, dataset is offered for further analysis by different types of researchers, such as linguists interested in intercultural pragmatics or educational psychologists interested in cross-sectional studies of dialogue and reasoning skills.

These classroom interactions took place in seven DIALLS participant countries (UK, Portugal, Germany, Lithuania, Spain, Cyprus, and Israel). The corpus is a set of 202 transcripts in the participant countries' native language (English, Portuguese, German, Lithuanian, Catalan, Cypriot Greek, and Hebrew). The transcripts in each native language range from a maximum of 35 for Hebrew (more than 17% of the overall corpus) to a minimum of 19 transcripts for Cypriot Greek (10% of the corpus). More than 50% of the transcripts in a language different from English (90 transcripts) have associated their English translation. The topic of the project is cultural literacy through dialogue and argumentation in school children. The Multilingual Corpus is...
