Dans un contexte de crises économiques récurrentes, la crise financière de 2007 et ses effets réc... more Dans un contexte de crises économiques récurrentes, la crise financière de 2007 et ses effets récessifs éventuels, ce travail fait l’étudie de l’impact de la politique monétaire sur la stabilité financière dans la zone UEMOA. Partant de modèles dichotomiques c’est-à-dire des modèles probit et logit sur données de panel, nous faisons l’estimation les variables explicatives de ces modèles sur la période 1980-2012. Les résultats montrent que la hausse du taux d’intérêt du marché interbancaire a des effets négatifs sur l’instabilité financière. L’accroissement du PIB, l’amélioration du solde budgétaire et celle du développement financier ont tendance à stabiliser l’activité bancaire au sein de l’espace UEMOA dans une certaine mesure. Alors que la hausse des taux de prise en pension, de l’indice des prix à la consommation et du terme de l’échange semble favoriser l’occurrence d’une instabilité financière dans l’Union. Il est nécessaire que des systèmes d’alerte précoce (SAP) soient mis en œuvre pour pouvoir palier aux éventuelles crises financières dans l’espace UEMOA.
