Kenneth Agyekum-Kwatiah
BIOGRAPHY
“Originally from Ghana, Ken has spent most of his academic and career life in the United Kingdom, and currently a British Citizen.
Driven by his interest in supporting vulnerable people, he worked with the elderly and later on with the homeless/rough sleepers - and even slept rough (in Central London) himself to raise money with Crisis (the UK homelessness Charity).
Publishing Winning Ideas was a great achievement as the volumes registered great success in enhancing professional practices amongst front-line staff. Ken paralleled these efforts with other achievements, particularly in Architectural practice – where he completed a number of designs and reports.
For the most part of the 2000s, Ken held corporate leadership duties. He was the Chief Executive of Edugroup (a UK Educational Consortium, of several academic institutions). Here he was instrumental in the development of several academic programmes particularly for the post-graduate levels (UK level 7 & 8). He sat on several academic boards and worked with a number of UK universities including the Middlesex University and the University of Wales. He also served on a number of quality improvement boards. He was also the Operations Director of S2S (a UK consultancy Firm) where he led a number of regeneration initiatives.
Ken founded APBA (Anti-Corruption Professionals and Businesses Alliance UK) to support individuals and corporate entities gain visibility on taking a stand against corruption and by so doing achieved a positive change globally. Ken also served as an NHS (National Health Service) Governor from 2016 – making positive impacts through sound governance and operations strategies within the UK Health Service system.
Desiring to consolidate all his achievements and experience into a single channel, Ken specialised in Construction Engineering Management in 2017. He has since published a range of books and articles on various topics in this domain. In particular, he has a keen interest in BIM (Building Information Modelling), Regeneration, and Construction Innovations. Combining his expertise in Architecture, Strategic Operations Management and Construction Engineering Management, Ken has already completed a large portfolio of consultancy service. He currently works for Morgan Sindall – one of the largest construction firms in the United Kingdom”

the challenges PMs face with engaging ACMs.
Perhaps, the greatest of them is “Culture”.
With proven benefits such as higher profit
margins, reduced cost, time efficiency, better
collaboration, and productivity – digital
technology and smart thinking are here to stay.
Despite the mass scepticism, embracing ACMs
is not a choice but a necessity. The recognition
of ACMs in new contracts, for insurance cover,
availability of tailored protocols and government
endorsements (as in the case of BIM in 2016)
have boosted ACMs uptake and defined a noreturn
path towards the “Smart Cities” Concept
– so much that those reluctant to change will no
longer be in the business."
