Jornalista, mestre pelo Programa de Pós-graduação em Comunicação e Cultura Contemporâneas da UFBA (conceito 5) e membro do Grupo de Pesquisa em Jornalismo On-Line (GJOL). Foi professor substituto na Faculdade de Comunicação da UFBA. Foi bolsista CNPq. Graduado no curso de Comunicação Social com habilitação em Jornalismo pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (2013), atuou por cinco anos e meio como repórter de jornal impresso na cidade de Salvador (BA), atualmente presta consultoria na área de análise editorial e é repórter freelancer. Tem experiência nas áreas de assessoria política e assessoria de comunicação. Seus principais interesses de pesquisa são conteúdos jornalísticos exclusivos para redes sociais, Live Streaming, convergência jornalística, Metodologias de Pesquisa em Comunicação, Jornalismo Digital e Jornalismo em Base de Dados. No ano em que o Seminário de Pesquisa em Jornalismo Investigativo da Abraji chega à sua décima ed... more No ano em que o Seminário de Pesquisa em Jornalismo Investigativo da Abraji chega à sua décima edição, este estudo exploratório de caráter bibliográfico/documental levanta sua produção para identificar convergências com os recentes estudos de cobertura jornalística da plataformização, fenômeno ‘guarda-chuva’ explicado pela alta dependência das big techs por parte da sociedade. Platform Beat ou a cobertura das plataformas tem potencial como uma especialização do jornalismo de vigilância, desafiando uma série de dependências estruturais e financeiras e certa tradição da reportagem investigativa no Brasil, que pode olhar para outros alvos que não quase que unicamente o setor público e os temas ligados à corrupção e ao crime. O levantamento permite debater a platform beat sobre o ponto de vista dos aspectos conceituais, da experimentação de novos e interdisciplinares métodos digitais, da formação, pelos aspectos regulatórios, das fontes e da diversidade.

O presente artigo recupera as principais características da newsletter jornalística ao descrever ... more O presente artigo recupera as principais características da newsletter jornalística ao descrever a experiência do Coletivo Interface, de Salvador (BA). Entre os meses de maio e outubro de 2018, o grupo produziu a in_box, uma newsletter quinzenal focada nas eleições estaduais. A revisão de literatura, entremeada à análise das 13 edições e ao relato da experiência são a base desta comunicação. As principais características do formato defendidas são curadoria, personalização, finitude, segmentação e especialização, ao passo que a experiência da in_box se diferencia pelos processos de produção e pela oferta de contextualização. O artigo surge na perspectiva de acrescentar novas referências sobre esse formato jornalístico tão pouco explorado academicamente, mesmo sendo apontado como uma tendência para uma entrega de conteúdo jornalístico digital bem-sucedida.

O Facebook Live é uma ferramenta que tem sido incorporada à rotina de redações convergentes para ... more O Facebook Live é uma ferramenta que tem sido incorporada à rotina de redações convergentes para compor a cartela de modos de narrar o presente. Mostra-se como uma das estratégias dos veículos jornalísticos de presença nas mídias sociais online ao mesmo tempo que lida com o simbolismo que o ao vivo construiu culturalmente na narrativa televisiva (BUCCI, 2009; FINGER; SCIREA, 2017; GUTMANN, 2014). Nesta pesquisa, investigamos através do método estudo de caso como três empresas jornalísticas baianas iniciaram o uso do recurso da rede social, logo após a sua disponibilização. Os resultados apontam para um tensionamento em relação ao discurso de interatividade adotado pelas redações para a adoção do recurso, a discussão sobre formatos e implicações profissionais.

Este artigo é resultado de uma pesquisa exploratória com características do método histórico, fei... more Este artigo é resultado de uma pesquisa exploratória com características do método histórico, feita no marco do Projeto #AcesseJor, vinculado ao Grupo de Pesquisa em Jornalismo On-Line – GJOL/UFBA. O trabalho apresenta uma aproximação inicial sobre a situação da acessibilidade e da diversidade em produtos do jornalismo digital e seus potenciais de inovação. Para isso, foi feito um mapeamento nas políticas, missões, códigos de ética, aba quem somos, termos e condições e documentos similares de veículos jornalísticos digitais no Brasil, América Latina, América do Norte e Europa. O resultado aponta três categorias em que a mídia recorrentemente menciona os termos de interesse nestes documentos, sendo elas representatividade, linguagem e recursos. Finalmente, o compromisso dos veículos pesquisados com esses temas aparece mais fortemente ligado a um discurso do que a um processo com etapas nitidamente definidas.

Faremos isso através de uma abordagem do discurso metajornalístico (Carlson, 2015), tomando como caso de observação a experiência de liberação parcial da barreira de pagamento pela Folha de S. Paulo e levando em consideração o contexto brasileiro.
