R: Os três significados do termo RH são: 1) RH como função ou departamento-refere-se à unidade operacional, prestadora de serviços nas áreas de recrutamento, seleção, treinamento, remuneração, comunicação, higiene e segurança do trabalho, benefícios etc; 2) RH como conjunto de práticas de recursos humanos-refere-se ao modo como a organização opera suas atividades listadas acima; 3) RH como profissão-refere-se aos profissionais que trabalham em tempo integral em papéis diretamente relacionados aos recursos humanos: selecionadores, treinadores, administrados, engenheiros, médicos etc. 2) Qual é o contexto da Gestão de pessoas? R: O contexto da Gestão de Pessoas é formado por pessoas e organizações. As pessoas passam boa parte de suas vidas trabalhando nas organizações. E estas dependem daquelas para poderem funcionar e alcançar sucesso. Separar os dois é difícil. As pessoas dependem das organizações em que trabalham para atingir seus objetivos pessoais e individuais-com um custo mínimo de tempo, de esforço e de conflito. E as organizações dependem das pessoas para operar, produzir bens e serviços, atender clientes, competir nos mercados e atingir seus objetivos globais e estratégicos. Assim, as organizações jamais existiriam sem as pessoas que lhes dão vida, dinâmica, energia, inteligência, criatividade e racionalidade. Ou seja, assim como já dito, há uma dependência mútua, na qual há benefícios recíprocos. Dessa forma, cada parte está disposta a continuar investindo seus recursos na medida em que obtém retornos e resultados satisfatórios de seus investimentos. 3)Comente a compatibilização entre os objetivos organizacionais e os individuais. R: Até pouco tempo o relacionamento entre as organizações e as pessoas era considerado antagônico e conflitivo. Acreditava-se que os objetivos de um eram incompatíveis com os objetivos do outro. A solução usada era do tipo ganhar-perder: uma parte leva tudo e a outra nada, o que era uma solução limitada e arriscada. Mais tarde, verificou-se que se a organização busca alcançar seus objetivos da melhor maneira possível, ela precisa saber canalizar os esforços das pessoas para que também elas atinjam os seus objetivos individuais e que ambas saiam ganhando. Então, verificou-se que a solução do tipo ganhar-ganhar no jogo de interesses é a mais adequada. Porém trata-se de uma solução que requer negociação, participação e sinergia de esforços. 4)Pessoas como recursos ou como parceiros. O que isto significa? R: As pessoas quando tratadas como recursos-recursos humanos-são padronizadas, uniformes, inertes e precisam ser administrados, o que envolve planejamento, organização, direção e controle de suas atividades, para obter deles o máximo rendimento possível. São considerados sujeitos passivos dentro da organização. Nesse sentido as pessoas fazem parte do patrimônio físico da empresa-coisificação do ser humano. No entanto, as pessoas devem ser vistas como parceiras das organizações: fornecedores de conhecimentos, habilidades, competências e, sobretudo, o mais importante aporte das organizações: é a inteligência dessas pessoas que proporciona decisões racionais e que imprime significado e rumo aos objetivos globais.
